Auditing and automation of firewall rules. Compare current configs to the last baseline and alert on deviations. Ticket creation on firewall events (interface down, intrusion detection, etc.). With some work, this integration could make Auvik or a similar tool irrelevant for smaller clients.

I hope you all are doing well! Quick question, what types of automations would you be interested in building if we had a Fortinet integration?
L
Lapis lazuli Silverfish
Jania Henderson Potentially, I am thinking we could use an integration to automate resetting Fortitokens for VPN users.
L
Lapis lazuli Silverfish
Jania Henderson Being able to pull information about support contracts that will soon expire and kick off tickets to renew with the customer.

Maybe adding new addresses, updating address groups, firewall policies, VPN Tunnel remediation.
Depends what kind of capability the integration has
Y
Yucca Pinniped
Jania Henderson pulling a config file for backup purposes would be amazing
C
Conventional Reindeer
Jania Henderson Like many others, we'd like to be able to pull configuration files, add and edit address objects, or address object groups. We'd also like to be able to initiate firmware updates, and/or possibly execute CLI commands directly. We'd also find it useful to check warranty/subscription status.
L
Local Pike
Jania Henderson We would use it to manage offline alerting, as the built in Fortimanager alerting leaves a lot to be desired. We would also want to use it for entitlement expiration notifications as well as device counts across all of our various ADOMs.

Yucca Pinniped
I am actually a bit amazed this still doesn't exist

Periwinkle Lizard
This would be a game changer for us.
